There are many seniors in Santa Cruz County struggling to meet their basic needs and live a dignified life.
Seniors-Giving-To-Seniors is a Direct Cash Grant Program.
Operated by a local nonprofit, Senior Network Services, we are your link to assisting a local senior in need.
Your dollars will make a difference in the life of a local senior in need.
That’s our promise to you.
Picking between food or medicine; or paying the rent but never having enough to visit an unmet grandchild; paying a veterinarian bill to keep a best friend healthy or buying glasses to replace the pair that broke…
…Seniors in our community face these choices that are heartbreaking and sometimes dangerous.
We engage seniors in dire circumstances everyday and in many cases a few hundred dollars would solve a problem right away, but traditional programs aren’t structured to address a wide variety of issues quickly.
Through a direct cash grant program we can assist seniors with needs that fall in the gaps.

You are the changemaker.
We are the facilitators of your impact.
Senior Network Services, an almost 50 year old local nonprofit in Santa Cruz County, California, will allocate 92% of all funds that we receive from your tax deductible donation to seniors in our community that we know are in need of assistance.
The other 8% of funds will go to staff, technology and facilitation of your grant. These staff members engage with seniors across the county everyday and know which individuals are struggling and how to allocate funds to maximize the impact of your donation.

Here is a real life example that happened recently: A woman in her 90’s has been on a fixed income that barely allows her to live. She has been in the same apartment for the past 20 years. About two years ago the apartment complex installed plumbing running a new pipe directly behind her bedroom wall. The noise was loud and constant until late in the evening and started again early in the morning. This woman could not sleep. She asked for help. The property management company did nothing.
She acquired legal assistance through a free program, there were meetings and advocates and a legal procedure. All of these agencies and resources were involved. Thousands and thousands of dollars were spent yet she suffered from lack of sleep and increased stress due to the situation. We bought her a sound machine for $60 and the issue was resolved. Direct cash grants work better than bureaucracy.
